As one of the technology partners of the Arrow Cerificaion program, TE Connecivity was interested in promoing their connecivity and sensor technology, specifically among entrepreneurs and campaigners pursuing the Arrow Cerificaion program.

TE uilized their relaionship with the Arrow Indiegogo team to look to illustrate how TE connectors and sensors have the durability and reliability needed to bring all the components of a soluion together. TE was interested in promoing their sensors in a real-world applicaion, by showcasing a successful Indiegogo campaigner who selected TE sensors and connectors as part of their design.

The Indiegogo campaign that TE selected as a case study of was TheCorpora’s social robot, Q.bo.

In addiion to showcasing the benefits of TE Connecivity, Arrow wished to promote the Arrow Cerificaion program, among other entrepreneurs and potenial Indiegogo campaigners. The TheCorpora had paricipated in the Arrow Cerificaion program for their design of Q.bo.

The Arrow Indiegogo team engaged AspenCore to create a high impact, custom video, to tell the story of TE as a leader in the connecivity and sensor industry. The goal of the video was to drive awareness and present TheCorpora’s integraion of TE sensors and connectors into Q.bo, as a case study for others considering sensor and connecive technology.

Strategy

To posiion TE as a trusted leader in the connecivity and sensor industry, and strategically tell their story to relate to entrepreneurs who are considering TE in their design, AspenCore took the approach of having the robot – Q.bo – narrate the story. With the video being told from the ‘first person’ point of view, Q.bo became a trusted resource; walking the viewer through the benefits of uilizing TE technology and how TE sensors and connectors solved its biggest design challenges – enabling Q.bo to recognize objects and interact with humans.

Addiionally, AspenCore focused on how TheCorpora team took advantage of Arrow’s resources and became Arrow Cerified. Q.bo highlighted the technology validaing experise and confidence TheCorpora’s Indiegogo backers received, knowing that TheCorpora and Q.bo were Arrow Cerified.

Solution

The soluion AspenCore created based on the client needs and strategy developed, was a custom, approximately 2:30, 3D animated video. As the video begins, the viewer is introduced to Q.bo. Q.bo begins walking the viewers through his design and how it is TE connectors and sensors which bring all his components together. AspenCore included live footage of a Q.bo robot, illustraing in a real-world seing how Q.bo recognizes objects and interacts with humans. Addiionally, AspenCore developed a 3D model of Q.bo.

With the 3D model, Q.bo could move around the screen, and detail the TE connectors and sensors that make up his design. AspenCore worked closely with TE, as well as Arrow, to develop a voice over narraion script and story boards to ulimately bring the story of TE Connecivity, Arrow Cerificaion and Q.bo to life.

Results

The resuling video has been used as a promoional piece by both TE Connecivity and Arrow. TE debuted the case study video at their annual conference in the Spring of 2017.

Arrow will be uilizing the piece to further promote and drive awareness of TE Connecivity, the Arrow Cerificaion program and TheCorpora’s Indiegogo campaign on social media and Arrow.com later in 2017.

As a Technology Provider for the Arrow Cerificaion program, TE Connecivity provides entrepreneurs with connectors that have the durability and reliability needed to bring all the components of their soluions together.

TE Connecivity is looking to create high impact, animated video content as part of their overall digital markeing strategy. This video will showcase one Indiegogo campaign, which has uilized several TE technologies in their product, as a case study. The goal of the video is to generate awareness and exposure of TE and highlight why TE is the best soluion available for muliple product needs. The target audience that TE is looking to reach and engage with this content are other tech entrepreneurs.

The Indiegogo campaign which was selected to highlight for this video is the Q.bo robot. With this video, we will focus on TE as a whole, how several TE soluions were included in the Q.bo design and how TE has contributed to Q.bo’s success.

Meet Q.bo, the social robot designed by TheCorpora team, was built to interact with humans through sight and sound. To understand, interact and work with the environment, Q.bo has a lot going on inside of him, including Ultra Sonic sensors, IR Sensors, Bluetooth, Wifi, audio and motor controls. TheCorpora team relied on TE Connecivity to solve some of Q.bo’s biggest design challenges. TheCorpora team uilized TE Connecivity’s terminal block headers, wire-to-board headers and receptacles, Wire-to-board and board-to-board headers and receptacles and AMP-Latch ribbon cable and connectors to bring all of Q.bo’s components together.

TheCorpora team took advantage of Arrow’s resources and became Arrow Cerified, providing technology validaing experise and insilling confidence in their Indiegogo backers.
