Victor Gao is an American journalist, entrepreneur, and technology executive. He is publisher and group managing director of AspenCore, one of the world’s largest technology media houses with magazine, digital, broadcast, and live event properties in over 50 countries. Previously, Gao was global vice president, media at Yell plc, a UK-based local search company and strategic spin-out of British Telecom and Telefónica SA. Prior to Yell, Gao was editor-in-chief and executive producer of FoxSports.com and led the coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and other major world sports events. Gao started his career in journalism at Yahoo!, where he produced finance, technology, and global affairs programming at Yahoo!’s news bureaux in the Asia Pacific, Western Europe, and Latin America on extended international assignments. Previously, Gao was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company based in New York. Gao is a member of the environmental science and policy group Conservation International in Washington D.C. and a former term member of the Pacific Council on International Policy.
